BGMC 2014 Giving Report
Mary Boyd, BGMC Coordinator
BGMC is racing along as we come closer to the end of 2014. You have just a few more weeks to make your goals for the year. As of now, BGMC giving is 1percent ahead of last year at this time. If we stay on this pace, we will once again go over the $6 million mark and set another all-time giving record! Currently we have 32 districts that have their BGMC giving a head of what they had for last year. More giving means more souls being reached for the Kingdom!
Within the next week, please be sure to double check your BGMC giving totals with what your church shows and what BGMC shows. You do this by calling contributor services here at the National Leadership and Resource Center at 417-862-2781, ext. 8840, or toll free at 1-877-840-4800 (M-F 9:00a.m.-4:00p.m. CST) or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org Don't wait until the end of the year so time permits for corrections to be made if necessary.
Below as a download is a report showing the top 20 churches in the nation for their BGMC giving and the top 10 churches in each division as of November 1, which means the November giving amounts are NOT in these reports. Many of you are keeping track of these rankings, which will also give you an idea of what you need to do to go over the top for BGMC! Congratulations to these churches that are working so hard for missions! We are seeing record-breaking BGMC totals for 2014!
Please remember that according to IRS rules, offerings have to be postmarked by December 31st in order to count for 2014. The offerings must be received here at the national office and not at your district office in order to count for 2014. If your church office is closed on that day, please mail your check in time to be postmarked. It's best to not wait until the last day to mail a check in case the post office doesn't get it postmarked in time. Checks received in Springfield with a January postmark will NOT count for 2014 giving. If your church Treasurer / Bookkeeper comes in after January 1st, and cuts the check for December giving - it won't count for 2014. It would be credited for 2015. All checks must be mailed before the end of the year. The best thing is to have the check mailed before Christmas.
Make the check payable to: BGMC, memo BGMC - 007-001 on your check.
Online debit/credit card contributions must be received no later than 7:30 p.m. (CST) on December 31 in order to receive credit for 2014. Donors who live in the Pacific time zone must remember we are two hours ahead of them time-wise. Additionally, credit card companies can take a couple hours before they release funds to us.
Mailed credit card contributions must be received by December 31 in order to receive credit as a 2014 contribution.
Any debit/credit card contributions received on January 1, 2015 (CST) are considered by the IRS to be a 2015 contribution.
Online debit/credit card contributions (giving.ag.org) must be received no later than 7:30pm (CST) on December 31 in order to receive credit for the current calendar year. Mailed credit card contributions must be received by December 31 in order to receive credit as a 2014 contribution.
