How-Tos for Preparing Missionary Care Packs
Christmas and the New Year is a perfect season for missionaries to receive care packages they can use for outreach events. Perhaps you would consider giving gifts in kind this season to help our missionaries with their ministries to children.
BGMC can provide given-direct credit for your contributions if the following standards are met:
- Items are shipped to a fully appointed AGUSM or AGWM missionary/ministry.
- Copies of your receipt can be sent for review to the national BGMC office.
- BGMC given-direct credit can be issued to a church if it gave to BGMC the previous year.
- The church can receive given-direct credit up to half the amount of offerings given to BGMC the previous year.
- Given-direct credit cannot exceed the matching amount of funds your church has sent into BGMC during the current or previous year.
- Complete a BGMC Given Direct Credit form (see download below) and email it to email@example.com or mail it to BGMC at:
ATTN: Denise Smith

Here are some worthy projects you can give to during the holiday seasons:
Convoy of Hope
Convoy of Hope is looking for donations such as children’s gifts and hygiene packets that include items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, bandages, and other basic hygiene items. It is helpful if the items are inserted into 1-gallon plastic zip-top bags and that all packets sent contain the very same items. Contact Convoy of Hope to see what their current needs are and where to ship the items— https://www.convoyofhope.org/.
BGMC is partnering with Rural Compassion by helping this ministry collect new shoes and socks for schools in rural America.
The process is simple: Host a Shoe & Sock Drive at your church. Even invite the community to participate. Box up and mail the shoes and socks to Rural Compassion at the address below. Send the attached BGMC Given-Direct form to BGMC and receive giving credit for the shipping fee and the dollar amount based on the number and value of the items donated. Contact Rural Compassion to see if a pickup is possible.
By doing something for “the least of these,” you are doing it as unto God. Partner with Rural Compassion and BGMC and put a smile on the faces and hope in the hearts of rural children across America.
During the Shoe & Sock Drive, ask the contributors the cost for each pair of shoes/socks and keep a running total of the value of all items donated. Also, keep track of the cost of shipping the boxed shoes to Rural Compassion. Shipping costs can be applied to your BGMC donation.

Children’s Gift Ministry
The Children’s Gift Ministry in Honduras needs several items as listed below. For information, go to http://childrensgiftministry.com.
Hygiene items needed: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, bar soap, washcloths, hair brushes, hair bows, combs, etc.
School supplies needed: Pencils, pens, sharpeners, erasers, round-point scissors, flash cards in Spanish, etc.
Clothing needed: Light clothing, socks, underwear, t-shirts, ball-caps, sundresses, belts, flip-flops, sun visors, sunglasses, etc.
Small toys needed: Coloring books, crayons, dolls, small cars, dominoes, jump ropes, yo-yos, stuffed animals, stickers, marbles, flashlights with extra batteries or solar powered/windup, watches, etc.
Other items needed: Compact umbrellas, small books, Bibles, etc.
Each box will be distributed in a “Children’s Evangelism Event.” Therefore, we recommend 50-60 zip-top bags per box.
NOTE: Children’s Gift Ministry is best served if all the packs contain the same content.
Take your box to your local UPS and have it sent, with tracking, to: Dip Shipping Co./Children’s Gift Ministry, 11483 NW 19th Lane, Miami, FL 33183. While at the UPS office, take note of the weight of the package.
In a separate envelope, mail a check to Dip Shipping (at the same address as above) to cover the costs of shipping from Florida to Honduras. The cost will be $2 per box + 70¢ per pound. Write the UPS tracking number on the memo line.
Thanks for caring. Thanks for giving so our missionaries can offer the gift of Jesus Christ!
