For over 15 years, Alisa and I have been annual recipients of BGMC funds. For the last 11 years, those funds have been used to purchase new shoes for children in need across the U.S.
Those include children who live in poverty and who have survived disasters (e.g., tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and wildfires). Most of the shoes are tennis shoes or suitable shoes for school. However, they also include snow boots for Native Americans in South Dakota and kids in Alaska.
We wish every kid who gives to BGMC could see the huge smiles on the faces of the children who receive new shoes. The kids who receive the shoes are so excited and grateful.
We take great care to be good stewards of the money we receive from BGMC. The money is used to fill in gaps in sizes and gender among the new shoes donated by individuals and churches. We do not pay more than $5 per pair of new shoes. God has blessed us with opportunities and connections to buy great shoes at incredible prices.
Thank you, BGMC, for all you do to help us show kids God loves them, all the way down to their toes!
Gratefully, Kelly & Alisa Ward, U.S. missionaries
