Alaska: Thank You From Jim and Linda Schulz

Kids

Greetings in the Lord!

Many big thanks go to BGMC and Coins for Kids for the new all-purpose building at Camp Agaiutim Nune (Camp AN) in western Alaska!

Camp AN is in a remote area of Alaska and is accessible only by boat. All supplies, even water, must be delivered to the camp by boat! The nearest village is 17 miles away, and the nearest city is 500 miles by air. Daily life is rugged along the banks of the Yukon River. The average daily temperature is 38 degrees, and the only “buildings” were drafty tents.

But BGMC and Coins for Kids came to the rescue! More than $200,000 were raised to build this huge multi-purpose permanent building to replace the tents. The building is used for chapel, as a cafeteria, and more. It is now the main hub of all camp activities.

In the Yupik Eskimo language “Agaiutim Nune” means “the place of God.” Yupik Eskimo kids come to Camp AN (thanks to sponsorships from BGMC) to make friends, have fun, and learn about Jesus. For many of these kids, Jesus Christ is made real to them for the first time.

Many blessings to you for all the coins that you’ve given to BGMC and Coins for Kids! They really add up! Those coins will be blessing the Yupik Eskimo kids for years to come.
